Loot and Raid Rules

• The Golden Rule is the primary rule in T7K.  Under no circumstance should any members of our Guild harass or abuse other members. This includes verbal abuse, begging, ninja looting, or just being such a pain or annoyance that people put you on ignore. Fighting or verbally abusing anyone in guild chat at anytime is grounds for immediate dismissal. Use your head, be nice.

• If you sign up for a raid, then you agree to be there, unless you have made other arrangements. We realize that real life happens but if you are unsure you can commit to the entire raid, please let someone know.

• If you are currently in a raid group, please don’t leave in the middle or say that you have to go without saying something at the start. Keep in mind that 9 or 24 other people have signed up for this and to be as considerate of their schedule as they are of yours. You’ve made a commitment, please try to stick to it.

• Be online at least 10 minutes before raid so we have an accurate count and can start subbing if necessary. Being late is a good way to not get invited again. It's not fair for one person to waste the time of 9 or 24 other people. Don't be surprised if you get subbed out.

• Please have the following addons: Omen and Deadly Boss Mods. Certain archetypes such as heals, tanks, and dps also use other addons. These addons include, but are not limited to, Healbot and Decursive for healers; PalyPower for paladins. Essentially, use the addons that make the raid more pleasurable and productive for you.

• Do not loot until the dead are raised AND the raid leader says it’s OK. If someone is at the graveyard and you loot, there is a chance that they would miss out on the roll. Think of it this way, your Tier piece drops and you couldn’t roll because someone looted the corpse while you are making the long run back. Even though we use a loot master, peeking sets the loot and there is a possibility that someone can miss the distribution. Again, just be considerate.

• Do NOT release until the raid leader says it’s OK. Some of us have soul stones, self rezzes, shadowmelded, etc. Sometimes the strategy changes on the fly, be flexible.

• Please do not spam in raid chat various emotes or non-raid related information. Again, this is opens the door for missed instructions. There is a time and a place for everything and after a boss kill when folks are excited a little jubilant spam would be tolerated, nay welcomed!!

• We use a loot council approach, which mean we discuss who needs what and then we roll on it. We roll on main spec first and then off spec. If no-one falls in this category or if it is not an upgrade, it goes to the designated enchanter to be disenchanted for inclusion in the guild bank. This approach has worked well for us and avoids loot drama and keeps the playing field level for all of us.

• Listen to your raid leader. There is a reason they are the raid leader. If you have any suggestions, please make the suggestion before or after the fight/raid. If at that point there is a chance or reason to discuss it, we will, otherwise lets wait til after the raid. We understand there are different ways of doing things. Usually we will talk about different tactics before or after the fight.

• DPS needs to give the Main Tanks the opportunity to build aggro prior to starting in on every mob, every time. As a rule of thumb, around 9k threat on Omen is generally a safe time to start.

• Remember that our raids are not only about getting loot, but about helping the guild progress further in the game. Loot is nice, but don’t let greed rule how you act. Eventually, everyone will get the nice gear. Gearing out all of our members is one of the guild goals. It just requires patience, teamwork, and a commitment to making the raid work, which sometimes means making a personal sacrifice for the group.

• Be willing to play different roles to meet the needs of the raid. If you feel you are being asked to fill a role you feel you are unsuited for, let the raid leader know, but also let them know you are willing to try.

• Keep in mind that you are part of the Seven Kingdoms family, as such, try not to get key’d to other raid instances if at all possible. We ask that you give the Guild priority.

• Expect wipes. As we progress as a guild, we will face new battles for which we still need to learn the strategy. Part of this learning process is repeated attempts at the encounter, and often repeated deaths. These deaths are NOT FAILURES so long as we are learning from the encounter.

• Be sure to come to the raid prepared. Have your armor repaired, First Aid leveled with bandages ready, have the reagents necessary for your spells, and the potions/items that you are likely to need for the encounter. The raid leaders can supply some items – feasts, flasks and potions but keep in mind that these items require time and effort to make. Donations for flasks are always welcome.

• No Damage Meters are to be posted in open channels unless approved by the raid leader. It’s fine for you to use addons for your own personal tracking but please keep that information to yourself. Even then it is important to remember that damage and heal meters are not the measure of a good player. There are many jobs in a raid and some require damage, others do not; also, depending on your class, damage and healing can produce different results. After each raid, though, stats will be posted to our portal on WoW Web Stats – the link for all fights is posted in the raid channel.

• No excessive AFK's. Excessive AFK's can result in being removed from the raid. This includes not going AFK during Loot Distribution. Get drinks, go to the bathroom and refrain from answering non-emergency phone calls. If you MUST AFK let the Raid Leader know and try to make it at an opportune time...not in the middle of a boss or timed trash pull.

• Remember, we value your abilities and knowledge, and most importantly, YOU. That’s why you are here.
• Above all else, have FUN!! This is critical to our success. If folks are not having fun, they will not raid and then everyone suffers. If it stops being fun for you, speak up, we can make a change or mix it up as needed. we don;t want anyone to get burned out.
• Rezzing.... Just a note, if we all are releasing please release as opposed to waiting for a rezzer. Saves us all time and usually you come back with full hit points anyway.
